Calle “Arzenik” Johannesson was born and bred in Sweden, where he started playing music in bands in the underground scene, beginning in the late 80s. Arzenik is the culmination of the experience and experimentation in various underground genres, and has found a home in the much-yet-to-be-explored environment of blending metal, industrial and dark cinematic styles. Key influences examples range from the old school of Godflesh and Ministry as well as more recent works from artists such as Health and 3TEETH, but inspiration is frequently drawn from the death and (atmospheric) black metal genres. 

After having spent the first two decades of the millennium in Ontario, Canada, he is currently based in Chicago, Illinois.

Arzenik is currently working on his debut album "The Quantum Protocol", expected to be released in September of 2026.
